Diminutive guard Leonard Anquilo unleashed 20 big points to help Arellano cruise past Angeles U, 96-77 and stay in the hunt for a coveted final four spot yesterday in the 85th Season of the NCAA at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Anquilo, who is the smallest man in the league at 5-feet (no exaggeration), proved to be too quick for his defenders as he ran circles around whoever got in the way.
The fleet-footed guard also wowed the crowd with his shooting ability that propelled the Chiefs to their second consecutive win and fourth overall in eight stints.
Meanwhile, Perpetual Help scored a close win over Emilio Aguinaldo College, 86-79, to end its first round campaign at 3-6.
Young gun Chris Elopre fired a team-high 19 points and had four steals for the Altas, who dealt the Generals their seventh loss in nine outings.
